In exclusivity Friedman & Vallois Gallery will present, famed European painter and sculptor Rachid Khimoune, next November 8th, 2012 until December 21st 2012.
From a Berber background, Rachid Khimoune, grew up in Paris suburbs, in a housing project. His work is imbued of the dual cultural heritage he was born with.
Khimoune delivers a message of wisdom and peace by presenting a recent series made of found materials and objects. Totems and masks, made during the past five years, evoke Africa and its traditions with humor, assembling disparate scraps of modern life and fusing them into a new identity playing with their initial definitions.
