Montclair State University, a vibrant campus 13 miles from New York City, is accepting applications to a new graduate certificate in Professional French Translation. This 4-course graduate program hones the skills necessary for translating from English to French and French to English in industries such as health, law, business, media, and culture. It serves as a stand-alone certificate and as a good introduction to our MA in French with a concentration in Professional French Translation. A flexible combination of required and elective courses covers topics such as Computer-Assisted Translation, Practicum in Translation and Interpreting, and workshops dedicated to French translation in business, marketing, health, law, and media.
This new program complements our customizable MA in French with a concentration in French Studies, which can include short or longer-term study abroad with universities in Bordeaux, Nice, Laval, and Montréal. We also offer many New York area cultural activities including on campus film and lectures series, trips to museums, and restaurant outings. Meet our dynamic faculty and students virtually via our online profiles or by attending a free online webinar on Nov. 9 at noon (EST).
Want to meet in person? Sign up for the upcoming Graduate School Open House on October 21 (sign up for “French” breakout session) to visit campus, meet faculty and students, and learn more about these graduate programs, our Graduate Assistantship Program, and other French-specific scholarships.
