A lecture in French by Philippe Vendrix.
This collaborative project, a joint venture of the Centre d’Etudes Supérieures de la Renaissance in Tours and Haverford College, brings diverse ap- proaches to bear on a sixteenth-century repertory of sung poetry (published by the Parisian printer Nicolas Du Chemin between 1549 and 1568) that shows the changing literary tastes, musical fash- ions, and above all the impact of the relatively new medium of printing on musical culture of the day. Philippe Vendrix is Directeur de Recherches with the CNRS and Dean of UFR, Centre d’Etudes Su- périeures de la Renaissance, Université François Rabelais de Tours.
Co-sponsored by the Columbia Maison Fran- çaise, Department of Music and Medieval and Renaissance Studies, and Department of French
