Each day from 9:00-12:00 will be a French language immersion experience. Beginning with a ballet class conducted by a native French speaking ballet dancer and with native speaker classroom assistants. The children will then have ballet history and story hour where they will learn the stories, composers, and history of the great classical ballets (Firebird, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty etc.). They will hear the story told in both French and English.
After ballet class and story hour they will have a chance to act out parts of the ballets. Followed by a craft and costume making classes where they will design and decorate a costume to be worn at the program's ending presentation. They will do activities to reinforce the information they've learned, such as paint scenes from the ballets.
There will be a break for lunch and the 2nd half of the day will be predominantly taught in English and will be a combination of musical theater, rehearsals, craft & tap classes.
