Science, Language, and Arts International School has a strong emphasis on the natural sciences and the arts. Children learn through discovery, hands-on projects, and play. We are seeking highly enthusiastic and progressive-minded teachers.
New York State certification is not required.
The school will sponsor a 3-year visa for the right candidate.
REQUIRED
* Native fluency in French
* Experience with children between ages 4 and 9
* Experience teaching in an immersion environment
* Interest in collaborative teaching
* Minimum bachelor’s degree in a related field
STRONG PLUS
* Experience with and interest in progressive teaching approaches (Bank Street, whole-child, Montessori, Freinet, etc.)
* Lead teacher experience
* Experience working with children of mixed ages and abilities
* Background in science and/or the arts
Teachers will be thoroughly trained -- both pre-service and in-service throughout the year -- in our approach and methods, and work closely with the director, curriculum director, and other head teachers to develop curriculum and lesson plans. This is a highly collaborative position.
Salary commensurate with experience.
