Needed: 1 French Teacher, 8 hours/week
Do you speak fluent French and have teaching experience?
Be a teacher in the French Heritage Language Program. The French Heritage Language Program is designed to support and enrich the teaching and learning of the French language for undeserved immigrant students of French-speaking background enrolled in New York City and Miami public schools. Our primary objective is to help students maintain proficiency in French, as well as a connection to their respective cultures and identities, all while increasing their opportunities for success in their new American environment.
This is a part-time position, available from January 15th through June 15th. Candidates must be allowed to work in the US and will be required to request fingerprinting at the NYC Department of Education. We offer a competitive hourly rate of $40 to $50 per teaching hour, depending on degrees and experience.
When? 8 hours of teaching per week over 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday). Create your own lessons, organize your own teaching material. Prepare your students to the Advanced Placement French examination. Occasional field trips.

Requirements: Degree in international education, language teaching, or French studies. Native or near-native fluency in French. Fluency in English a plus. Must have experience in the teaching of a language or cultural curriculum. Experience with school groups and cultural projects a plus. Organized, flexible, energetic, and able to engage a group of students.
