PRLog - March 24, 2015 - NEW YORK -- SR Socially Relevant Film Festival New York wrapped its 2nd annual edition on Sunday March 22, at The Fourth Restaurant, after a week of screenings of the 53 films from 33 countries in its slate and a weekend of industry panels. The festival opened at CUNY Graduate Center - Proshansky Auditorium with Hüseyin Karabey’s Come to My Voice sponsored by the German Consulate General of New York and co-sponsored by MEMEAC CUNY, on Monday, March 16.

The following two days of the festival took place at the Maysles Cinema in Harlem, the home of legendary documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles who was scheduled to give a Masterclass and participate in the Storytelling panel of SR 2015. SR Film festival honoredAlbert Maysles posthumously, in Memoriam with theLifetime of Inspiration Award for inspiring and guiding more than one generation of filmmakers in the US and abroad. The Award was presented during the closing ceremonies by SR festival Founding Artistic Director Nora Armani.
