Comment by Sylvie Gilbert on May 6, 2013 at 10:28am MANHATTAN NYC ! As you know, there are dozens of people offering French tutoring on this site. They all claim reasonable rates, good teaching skills, etc. How do you choose a teacher who will give you great results and won't waste your valuable time and money? Here are some points to consider
Experience: I've been doing this professionally for 21years in New York City. Teaching is like taxi driving -- anyone can do it, but it takes a while to learn how to get around without wasting time and money. Is your current teacher a relative novice, or an experienced professional like me?
Method: Over the years, I've developed my own teaching materials and methods, which have proven to work well with students of all levels and abilities. Are you learning well from your current teacher? If not, could the problem be with the teaching method?
References: I will be pleased to give you references from past and present students.
Free : For serious students, I will give a free introduction to my method (not a free class) so you can decide if you like it or not. (Please serious inquiries only!)
Convenience: I give lessons in my home on West 14th Street, convenient to all subway and bus transportation.
Flexible teaching schedule: This is my only occupation. Therefore, I can work out a teaching schedule that suits your needs.
Rates: Yes, my rates are reasonable for the kind of teaching I do! I charge $70 per hour (usually students pay 4 classes in advance and come once a week. This rate includes all material/books.
COMPARE then choose! If you are studying a language, you are making a big investment of your valuable time. If you want to see how I can teach you to speak, read, and write high-quality French, as I have taught hundreds of others -
All levels. Private lessons only.
So, if you are serious please contact me via TEXT IS BEST 646 420 7676 or email: Email : French A La Maison

Comment by Guillaume Breguier on April 6, 2013 at 1:41am I am a 29 yo English teacher in France and I'm looking for some work experience in New York over the summer. I have been teaching for 6 years now, to students aged 12 to 18.
Being a native French speaker, I'd be interested in teaching French too. Private lessons or conversation with adults is also possible.
I really want to get a different experience by coming to New York and making the most of all the time I get to spend in the US. I am dynamic and eager to help students learn.
I would even consider voluntary work, in other fields than teaching depending on what's on offer.
I could be available from mid-July when the exams are over in France to mid-August.

Comment by Oumou Boukari on April 4, 2013 at 11:48pm 8 years experienced nanny looking for a full time position.I'm educated, speak, read and write in English and French( the latter being my native language). I'm a CPR and New Born Specialist certified. I came from a large family and I JUST LOVE KIDS and I believe they're precious. Feel free to send me a message if you are interested. I always take good care of my little proteges but insist on being treated fairly. No one ever regretted hiring me and I intend to keep it that way. I'm interested in a full time position.
