FRENCH CLASSES FOR ADULTS!

 2^nd Semester Ÿ Starts February 7^th! 

Fourteen (~14~) Week Sessions

February 7, 2012 ~through~ May 29, 2012

LEVELS:

• BEGINNER Level 1:  Tuesdays, 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at PS 58
• BEGINNER Level 2:  Tuesdays, 9:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. at PS 58
• INTERMEDIATE Level 1: Tuesdays, 12:30 P.M. – 2:30 P.M. at a local establishment, TBA
• INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED: Tuesdays, 9:30 A.M – 11:30 A.M. at a local establishment, TBA

PLEASE NOTE:  We accommodate all levels.  We want you to feel comfortable about joining us!

Ÿ Beginner Level 2 is for those who have been studying French for at least 1 semester.

Ÿ Intermediate Level 1 is for students who have taken 4 or more semesters of French.

Ÿ Intermediate/Advanced is for students who have studied French for 6 semesters or more.

COST:

The cost is $325 for this semester (approx $11/hr).  The full semester’s payment, by check, is due at the time of the first class. 

DETAILS:

Ÿ Beginner Level 1 and Level 2 classes will take place at PS 58.  The location for the Intermediate and Advanced classes will be determined according to the total number of participants in each class.  They will be held in the Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill area.

Ÿ New participants are asked to purchase two textbooks, at an estimated cost of $60.00.  The books are a good investment, as they are used for ALL levels of the adult classes.

Ÿ Adult classes are best when there are a good number of students, making for lively conversation and opportunities for shared learning.  (Classes are unfortunately subject to cancellation, should they be under-subscribed.)

Ÿ All classes are canceled when public schools are closed (for holidays or other reasons).

Ria Aichour, a native French speaker from Paris, is a French educator and camp director with over 10 years of teaching experience.  She has worked for the French Embassy, the Alliance Française and many NYC Dual-Language Programs.  She has been the French instructor for adult classes since 2007.  Ria also provides private lessons for children, and teaches after-school classes at both PS 58 & PS 84 in Manhattan.

Val Berisha joined us last year as an adult French class instructor. Val too is from Paris, and moved to NYC over a year ago.  She has extensive experience teaching French as a second language.  She works as a French instructor for several organizations.  She was the Onsite Manager for the 2011 Bonjour NY French Summer Camp at PS 84 on the Upper West Side and last semester, she taught their adult French language class.
