In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Elyssée Treaty a.k.a. the Treaty of Franco-German Cooperation, an exhibition has been opened at the German House (First Avenue at 49th Street) in NYC. The reconciliation and partnership between the two countries became the condition for a new concept of Europe known as the European Union. At the opening of the exhibition: French General Consul Bertrand Lortholary at the microphone, on the right German General Consul in New York, Busso von Alvensleben.
