In celebration of French-American friendship, this year's Films on the Green festival will feature the best of classic and recent French films all based on French and American literature. From Donald E. Westlake's bestselling novel, "The Ax," to Victor Hugo's poem, "How Good are the Poor," discover how great directors like François Truffaut, Jacques Demy and Costa-Gavras have adapted works of literature.

The Festival, in its fifth year, is presented by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the U.S. and the City of New York Parks and Recreation. Films on the Green is offering free outdoor screenings in New York City Parks beginning Friday June 1st.
