PS 84 on the Upper West Side has a fantastic French Dual Language Program with 50% of each class coming from French-speaking families. While priority is given to zoned children, native speakers of French from outside the zone are encouraged to apply.

March 4:         Deadline to submit a Kindergarten Application

Applying to P.S. 84


Parents seeking to submit an application to P.S. 84 may do so in the school's main office M-F 9:00AM - 11:00AM.
All submissions MUST include a copy of the child's birth certificate as well as proof of address. Applications will not be accepted without these documents. 
While any family may apply to P.S. 84 the school must adhere to the priority ranking set forth by Dept. of Education guidelines such as zoned w/ sibling, zoned, out of zone and out of district families.

In addition to the general school application, there will be applications available to either the Spanish or French Dual Language programs.

  • · There is one application for students who are NATIVE speakers of Spanish or French.  These students will be scheduled for a Language assessment by the school soon after their application is submitted.
  • · There is a different application for students who are NOT native speakers of Spanish or French who wish to apply to the Dual Language program.  A general assessment will also be scheduled for these students at a later date.
