Cult Toys of the 20th Century at Albertine Books

3438653388?profile=originalIn this interactive and playful workshop, children will draw and imagine classic and modern toys, rank them in chronological order, and identify those that have lasted through generations.

In Jouets Cultes du XXe siècle, author Dorothée Charles, along with Brigitte Durieux, Claire Didier and photographer Laziz Hamani, showcase 50 iconic toys of the 20th century, from the first teddy bear to the famous Furby. Gracing the glossy pages are Bleuette and Barbie, Mickey, Snoopy, UFO Robot Grenzider, plus trains, cars, and a Formula 1 race track. The Meccano Truck and Etch A Sketch and classics like Lego and Playmobil also find their place in the whimsical panorama. Whether it’s a unique design, material, or idea that made these toys popular, they remain firmly rooted in our collective memory, and many figure in museum collections today.
