Here like in many other places, March is the moment when we celebrate Francophonie and the diversity of French-speaking cultures in the world. We would like to seize this opportunity to share some exciting news about our wonderful students and their work. Bonne fête!

French Heritage students shine on stage!

Francophone students from across New York City, and from as far away as San Francisco, converged on the Lycée Français de New York last month for the school’s annual theatre festival, Première Scène. Maine French Classes looking for local support

About 60 students are currently attending the Maine French Heritage Language Program in two public elementary schools of Augusta and the Lewiston/Auburn area. This innovative program aims at reconnecting generations by promoting and teaching Maine's rich French cultural heritage to the younger. My Culture, Your Culture: a conference on international education

The Lycée Français de New York will hold a conference on multiculturalism, multilingualism and international education on Saturday 12 April 2014. Researchers, educators and entrepreneurs will take part in 3 panels to discuss the stakes and challenges of embracing diversity in education today. Forum des Jeunes Ambassadeurs de la Francophonie des Amériques

Congratulations to Bassirou Kaba (left on picture), an alumni of the FHLP who has been selected to take part in the Forum des Jeunes Ambassadeurs de la Francophonie des Amériques, this summer in Canada. Only 50 participants from across the Americas made it to the final selection! Bassirou has been a fervent ambassador of Francophonie ever since he joined our program 5 years ago. Many Francophone students in the United States do not know that they can use their French to increase their success at school. There are today several options like the AP French examination or the College Now program that can offer college credits and significantly reduce the cost of access to higher education. This year, about 40 FHLP students will seize this clever opportunity and make their French an even bigger asset in the United States... read more.

Donate to the FACE French Heritage Language Program and give a chance for new Americans to make the best of their French in the United States.

Your donations are vital in helping us maintain and expand our French classes in public schools and community centers across the country. In New York City only, there are an estimated 22,000 children who live in French-speaking homes. Yet many do not have the possibility to learn their language at school or make the most of it in the United States.
