First Bilingual Education Fair of New York

3438653136?profile=originalOn Saturday October 12th, the first Bilingual Education Fair of New York at Hunter College took place. Guests were able to enjoy 70 exhibits, partake in 4 conferences that were led by 12 speakers. Numerous parents and school directors or those just curious about bilingual programs were able to get more information about the “French Dual Language Programs”.

This first bilingual education fair was full of many different bilingual actors, as Oznoz (a multicultural store with a lot of books and other articles for bilingual kids). Many bilingual schools were there too. Schools as Collina Italiana or La Semilla represented Spanish and Italian languages and, for French bilingual programs, many primary schools (as PS 84) and high schools (as LFNY) had their own stations and were looking to provide information for families looking for the resources they need (as families who wanted to get information about bilingual programs.) Many Parents with children from 1-2 years old inquired about application forms.

“Bonjour New York" was one of the bilingual actors present at this fair. It offers summer camp for 5 year olds, in Manhattan and Brooklyn, during a 9-week period, from June to August. The summer camp offers a range of activities, with full immersion in French with from 9:00am-3:00pm. Activities include cooking French cuisine and excursions in the park. Ria Achour, founder and director of “Bonjour New York” was "delighted to meet other schools, teachers ... French booksellers. (this event has enabled her to establish new business contacts, meet potential new customers, the day turned out to be success!”
