The festival’s 4th edition takes place March 13-19,  2017 at the Bow Tie Chelsea Cinemas.

Founded by actor/filmmaker Nora Armani, SRFF showcases socially relevant films with human interest stories. The festival has screened over 157 films from 35 countries. 50% of the films selected are made by women and minority filmmakers. Narrative and documentary features, shorts, scripts, and works by women filmmakers are accepted. The festival features industry and educational panels with major industry players at academic partner the School of Visual Arts Social Documentary Film Department. Submissions are received from 7 continents!

A distinguished international jury of professionals awards 25K dollars worth of prizes to filmmakers from the US and overseas.
