I am actually using the term "rare bird' that I read in a previous entry...and, that because it fits me so well. I am, indeed, one of those rare birds, in many ways.

One of those is that I am uniquely native in English, French and Spanish. The details of why are not the issue here, as much as the reason for my reaching out. For decades, I have been speaking, writing -- basically, using all my languages on a daily basis both personally and professionally. I have taught, translated, conversed and done business in them.

Now, I find myself back in the New York area and looking for work. I joined this group because I am a francophile at the core and still so passionate about the language - linguistically and culturally.  I am glad to see that French is re-emerging as a language of interest in the schools. And, because of that, I am extending my interest in being part of the movement that reignites the passion in its students.

I am not certified to teach, but vow that my knowledge and capabilities are expertly native and deeply passionate.

What do I have to do to get a step in the door of those places where someone like me is so sorely needed?
