During his trip to NYC within the context of the anniversary of the conference of the Convention of the Rights of Physically Impaired People, Mr. Albert Llovera, the UNICEF Ambassador of Andorra, paid a visit to EINY to present his journey as a professional athlete to our students.
In fact, Mr. Llovera currently participates in worldwide competitions of car racing at the same level as other validated athletes and race car drivers.
As a former Olympic skier who became paraplegic at the young age of 18, he came to EINY speak about his mission to support the physically impaired people to be better integrated in our society and among other competitive athletes.
The Permanent Mission of the Andorran Principality in New York has organized this visit. Her excellence the Ambassador of Andorra, Madame Elisanda Vives Balmana, the Director of UNICEF for Andorra, Madame Marta Alberch Terres, were our esteemed invited guests at school and honorably accompanied Mr. Llovera to EINY. Mr. Llovera was able to convey a very hopeful message of courage and willpower to the students of EINY. His infectious optimism, his kindness and his extraordinary strength captivated our academic community.
